Neha is the Co-founder and CEO of Astrome. She is a serial entrepreneur and a researcher. She holds a PhD from Texas A&M University and a Master’s from Indian Institute of Science in Aerospace Engineering. After her PhD, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Air Force Research Lab, USA. Prior to Astrome, she co-founded two space companies, Scientific Preparatory Academy of Cosmic Explorers (SPACE) and Experimental Center for Applied Physical Systems (ECAPS, LLC). SPACE is a non-profit company based in the Isle of Man that promotes hands-on space education by organizing conferences, virtual internships and joint research. ECAPS, LLC is a for profit Texas based company that develops non-destructive Asteroid deflection technology and Asteroid detection technology.
She has worked extensively on various aspects relating to Unmanned/Micro Aerial Vehicle (UAV/MAV), asteroids and satellites. She loves entrepreneurship because it has endless possibilities to create and it challenges one to go out of their comfort zone.
Prasad is the Co-founder, Chairman & CTO of Astrome. He is a serial entrepreneur and a researcher. He did his Masters and PhD in Computer Science and Automation Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science. During the last year of his PhD, he started his company Streamoid Technologies. In this company, he lead the development of core IP in visual research domain that the company is now successfully monetizing. Streamoid is incorporated in both US and India. Prasad has also published a highly rated book on Stochastic Optimization in Springer Link.
Prasad loves core technology development and has been an architect for various technologies including a microsatellite, a visual search engine, a stochastic game theory solver, the software tool for the latest 3D measurement TI chipset.
Kiran is part of RF/Antenna team. He has done his Masters in RF Design and Technology from IIT-Delhi. He has more than 6 years experience in designing and testing of various RF systems and subsystems.
Nutan is part of RF/Antenna team. He has his Masters in RF/Microwave Engineering from NIT Trichy. He has more than 4 years experience in the design of RF/Microwave components for space and Telecommunication industry.
Pranav is part of Space team. Having completed his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineeirng from Pune university, Pranav pursued his avid interest in space sciences and technology to complete his M.Sc. in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University U.K., specialising in Space Systems Engineering. He wrote his master’s thesis in Asteroid deflection technology, another area that piques his interest.
Madhumitha is handling administration and HR responsibilities. She is currently persuing her Law degree as well. She has more than 8 years experience in HR, Legal and Compliance.
Rama Krishna is part of Baseband team. He obtained his post graduation diploma in Embedded Systems and Design from CDAC-ACTS Pune. He has more than 3 years experience in embedded product design and development for defence industry.
Venkatesh is part of Baseband team. He holds M.Tech. in Automotive Electronics from VIT University. He has about 2 years experience in the design and development of digital systems in baseband for Space and RADAR industry.
Miracle has a bachelor degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Nehru Institute of Technology. He is currently pursuing his masters’ double diploma in Space Science and Technology at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden and Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, France. His areas of expertise are radiation shielding and analysis, thermal and propulsion subsystem design.
Raja has a bachelor degree in aeronautical engineering, and a certified mechanical designer. He is currently pursuing a dual masters program in “Space Technology” and “Space Techniques and Instrumentation”, with a research project on asteroid mining. His expertise areas are astrodynamics and satellite mission planning.
Indra has a bachelor degree in aeronautical engineering and is currently pursuing a dual European Master degree program in “Space Technology” and “Space Techniques and Instrumentation”. At Astrome, she performs holistic subsystem engineering and structural designing of the satellites.
Art is an aerospace intellectual property lawyer. He has been a member of the facility of the University of Houston Law Center for decades teaching space law. He is also a trustee of the Heinlein prize trust, a fellow of the British Interplanetary Society, a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a member of the Board of Governors of the International Space University, a member of the board of directors of the US National Space Society; an Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, and was the leader and co-editor of the IAA “Space Mineral Resources”. He was awarded the NSS Space Pioneer award twice, in 1988 and 2010.
Dr. B N Suresh is a distinguished scientist, well known for his contribution, for the development of the Indian Launch Vehicles and the Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE). He headed the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) from 2003 to 2007 after working for 34 years at VSSC. He was founder Director for the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST). He was the Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professor at ISRO Headquarters till recently and presently he is Honorary Distinguished Professor. He is also President of Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) located at Delhi.
C S Murali is the Chairman of Entrepreneurship Cell at Society for Innovation and Development, Indian Institute of Science. Murali brings with him more than three decades of experience in the IT industry. He retired from Cognizant where he was Vice President of Corporate Affairs. Prior to Cognizant, Murali was a partner at Connect Capital — a venture capital firm focused on early stage start-ups. His other positions include President and CEO of LEC India Software, COO of Digital Globalsoft (now a HP company) and General Manager at IBM Global services.
Raghu is the CEO of Aniara SpaceCom LLC. He has over 20 years’ senior level experience in the satellite/telecommunications industry. He was a co-founder and Senior Vice President (Sales & Marketing) for ProtoStar Satellite Systems. He also held senior leadership positions in Loral Skynet, Loral CyberStar and Loral Orion, and Orion Network Systems.
Govind is the President of Aniara SpaceCom, LLC. He is a satellite industry veteran with over 20 years of experience. Govind played a key role in sales and marketing efforts of Loral Orion and Loral Skynet in South and Central Asia, and East Africa. He has been associated with number of players in the satellite communication industry in various capacities.
Dr. M Seetharama Bhat is a professor of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is an expert in guidance, navigation and control. Dr. Bhat works closely with the top aerospace organizations in India, namely ISRO, NAL, ADE to develop various technologies. Over the years, he and his team have developed complete systems and technologies related to autonomous UAV/MAV and satellites.
Dr P S Goel started his career in ISRO with Aryabhata satellite in 1970 and became Director of ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC) in November 1997. He was a Member of Space Commission. He was appointed Secretary, Department of Ocean Development in July 2005 and transformed it into Ministry of Earth Sciences. He was Chairman RAC, DRDO, member of National Security Advisory Board and later DRDO Chair at RCI, Hyderabad. Currently, he is Hon. Distinguished Professor at ISRO HQ and Dr Raja Ramanna Chair Professor at NIAS. Dr Goel is a Padma Shree awardee and a member of International Academy of Astronautics, Paris.
Dipanjan Gope, PhD, is Assistant Professor in Electrical Communication Engineering at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Dr. Gope is the founding member at Nimbic (acquired by Mentor Graphics) where he served as Vice President, R&D from 2007-2011 and 2013-2014. Between 2005-2007, he was a Senior CAD engineer at Intel where he was a recipient of a divisional award for contributions towards providing signal integrity solution to Intel architecture platforms.
Amit has a background in precision engineering from Stanford University, where he was a student 2000 to 2006. As a MS student he worked in the Advanced Gravity Wave laboratory. As a PhD student he designed, built and tested three satellites for a NASA-funded tethered satellite mission. This was launched in May 2007 to limited success. From 2006 he has been working in India applying precision engineering concepts for solutions in aerospace, optics and tribology. Till recently he was the Sr Technology Manager at Ducom Instruments in Bangalore and has worked in Easun Reyrolle Ltd and General Optics (Asia) Ltd in R&D leadership roles. He has published papers and has also filed patents. He combines the best practices that academia and industry has to offer and brings it to Astrome.
Venkatesh (Venki) has over 25 years of of work experience in consulting, sales management, marketing, operations and executive leadership roles across IT, Semiconductor, Embedded software and system design at various MNC’s and Indian companies at Hong Kong, Boston and India. At present he heads the strategy and operations at an Industry body on electronics and semiconductors and is passionately working to grow the ESDM industry as well as creating an IOT ecosystem in India. Venki is an Active member of the Ministry of Defense task force and is working on developing India’s Defense Electronics policy. He is also a well-known personality in the media. His article and opinions are often published in leading technology and business publications.
